Well, Christianity started over there...
"Christian Zionists", however are 'very special' or at least they think they are.
QUOTE
Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, is in accordance with Biblical prophecy. This belief is primarily, though not exclusively, associated with Christian Dispensationalism, mainly in English-speaking countries outside Europe.
Christian Zionism, as a specifically theological belief, does not necessarily entail sympathy for the Jews as a nation or for Judaism as a religion. Since the biblical text is filled with references to God's chosen people, it is common for Christian Zionists to emphasize the Jewish roots of Christianity, and even to promote Jewish practices and Hebrew terminology as part of their own practice; however, Christian Zionists commonly believe that to fulfill prophecy, a significant number of Jews will accept Jesus as their Messiah, and that in the last days, such Messianic Jews will practice a thoroughly Hebraic form of Christianity.
Many Christian Zionists believe that the people of Israel remain part of the chosen people of God, along with the ingrafted (based on Romans 11:17-24, Holy Bible) Gentile Christians. This has the added effect of turning Christian Zionists into supporters of Jewish Zionism.
For Christians who belong to Zionist denominations in southern Africa, see Zionist Churches

It's both interesting and curious.
These evangelical Christians do offer genuine and staunch support for Israel. The problem is that their bottom line remains the belief that Jews must embrace Jesus as the messiah. And of course, as Jews we do not believe this.
I have no problem with groups such as the one mentioned in your link. So long as they don't try and tell me what I must believe.

Regardless of what you believe about a Palestinian state,Israel, and Zionism, this quote from the article disturbed me- "People who are clueless about the Old Testament can be persuaded to support the other side."
People aren't just pawns in a game of chess,or pieces of junk to be thrown away. It's sad that the Christian's duty to love thy neighbour has turned into taking sides.

We are tied to Israel, whether your side likes it or not. The land has a clear title that is over 4000 years old. We have stood by and watched non-believers try their best to destroy this land, and its people. Each time more is given back to the invading Muslims everyone loses.
