He has even continued his assault.
HE APOLOGIZED....yup....forliberals taking his words out of context.
Thats what he apologized for.
Plain and simple...this guy needs to be whiped off troop listening.
Heck, IMUS apologized....publically...and he was stilfired.
Limbaugh has the support of his management...
That in itself shows they feel hes not in the wrong.
That in itself should be enough to see they wont adjust his attitude..
So get him off the military air.
In fact, get him off the air alltogether.
He really is useless, unless you want to keep the parties divided..
and prevent our government from unifying for our common problems.
People like the limbaughs theoreillys the coulters, only continually feed the division of our government, and makelivings at dividing people with their alientating ideas intent on keeping us divided

The people above me who have said that Rush was talking about specific "soldiers" who actually haven't ever served are correct. I'm sure the service members who were listening understood that -- since they were actually listening to the program and not just reading an article with out of context quotes. Rush doesn't owe anyone an apology.
He certainly doesn't owe one to John Murtha, who is worthless and currently being sued for defamation by a Marine he accused of war crimes for Haditha. Yeah, Murtha really supports the troops...

lol....Dude if you actually took the time to see the transcripts of the day before, and the next days radio show, where again phoney soldiers was used, you'd feel like a compleat FOOL for asking this question. I see NO WHERE in your comments about the 7 soldiers convicted by the military in Washington, for lying about service, injuries, and service related stress all due to being in Iraq. Then there is the phoney Jesse Mcbeth who served only 44 days of boot camp, and was discharged, but claimed he was a corperal, and he and his group, hung and burned bodies in the mosque's while in Iraq. How he was ordered to kill 100's of innocent iraqi's. Then has the balls to go to the VA and try to get benefits! He got 5 months prison time, and 3 years probation. You also left out the ABC story which was on phoney soldiers, by charles gibson, which aired 2 days before Rush's radio show on Wednesday! This is exactly what happenes when the LIBERAL LEFT WING media goes for a LIE, and runs with it! Take a snippet of a comment and flood the airway's and print. Any and all Americans do not deserve this kind of propaganda....But that is exactly what has been happening, Dan Rather, Trent Lott, Kathleen Willey, Jennifer Flowers, to name a few. the damage gets done and your name is mud for ever. We've turned into the most DISHONEST nation on the planet, where trash talking and trash tv rules the land. Whats really sad is people like you that buy into the garbage, without ever looking into the WHOLE STORY to find facts! Jesse Mcbath was propped up by the liberal left as a hero, taking his word, and salavating at giving the REAL SOLDIERS a bad rap. The story he told did nothing more than endadnger the troops in Iraq, because his lie was flooded to their media, and only intensified the anger. You HATERS need to take a good look in the mirror, and ask yourself, why you support people who are hell bent in destroying our country, just to get back at 1 man...G.W. Bush!

Rush already apologized to anybody that might have been offended by his comments, however his "phony soldiers" refers to individuals who claimed to have served in the military and stated an opposition to the war in Iraq based on their service when in fact they are not now members of the armed forces nor have they ever been the armed forces. The specific case he was citing was an anti-war commenter who had been dischanged from Basic Training yet claimed to have served in combat in Iraq.
If you at all interested, I suggest you look at
http://www.pownetwork.org/phonies/phonies.htm
I doubt however that you will look at this site as it seems that you have already found Rush guilty of the offense you believe he committed.

You are so far out of line with your complaints that I would not be surprised if you were a Harry Reid sycophant.
Mr. Limbaugh owes no apology. He did not disrespect the military. I suspect that you never listened to the conversation. Your statements amount to libel, since they are in writing. The term "phony soldiers" applied to people who faked service and tried to defraud the VA to get medical benefits. One man has been tried and convicted for falsifying his record. That makes him a PHONY SOLDIER.
John Murtha is a flake. I don't care how long he served. I live in a Congressional district that abuts his. I actively campaigned against him in the last election because he is a flake.
I don't buy your poll information. Polls don't mean anything when it comes to fighting a war.
The war in Iraq is a fight against terrorists. If you can do better get elected president.
I served in the military. If anyone does not want to serve, that is fine with me. We have 300 million people in the US and 2.4 million in the military. It is not possible for everyone to serve.
Service members listen to his broadcast because they have demanded it. There were no insults to hear.
I challenge you to call Mr. Limbaugh's radio show and say the things you wrote. If you don't, I will assume you are a coward.

You obviously never listen to Rush or you would realize that this is a total smear campaign. You can't pick 2 words out of a sentence and then make up the rest of the sentence to suit your own agenda...which is EXACTLY what the left is doing! My husband is in the army, many of our friends are in the various other branches and ALL of us have listened to Rush for months if not years. He does NOT go after the military in the way that it is being portrayed now. You really need to listen to the whole show so that you can fully understand what he was talking about. So NO he should NOT apologize...those people that are trying to drag his name through the dirt should apologize to him!

No. He has nothing to apologize for. If someone wants to hear an apology, it is his political enemies, the Liberals and Democrats (as if there is a difference).
You have not heard a true outcry from the military because we are smart enough to understand what he said, and most of us agree with him.
Liberal media has trotted out these fake Vets for months now saying they are opposed to the war. Screw em.
I want an apology from Murtha, Kerry, Hillary and Pelosi for their more obvious, direct insults to the troops. After they pony up, then I'll listen to Rush's apology.

Ah, I highly doubt that alot of those deployed heard about this.. They don't have time, working 16 hour days, when they get back to their tents they just want to call home or just sleep.. And when they get to call home, we have better things to talk about.
Just so you know, my son's brigade just celebrated the 1000 re enlistment.. That would be 1000 men and women while in Iraq, deployed, re up'ed for another 4 years, of ACTIVE duty. I don't think they would have done that on deployment if they didn't know what they were doing over there, and actually what they are doing here in the states to them in the media, is no different then what Sadam did to his people with twisted words and the like..
So an ace is an ace, and a black kettle is a black kettle.. I am just sorry there are so many in this country who think everyone who does support the war, is stupid..
Carry on..

Perhaps if you DID listen to Rush's show, you would realize that Rush has nothing to apologize for. He was NOT referring to any military member who serves honorably, regardless of their political affiliation. He WAS referring to "phony soldiers" who misrepresented their service or were not even soldiers at all...yet claimed to be...and even WORSE were making false claims AS soldiers about military atrocities that have been used by Muslims as propaganda. There have been a number of cases of just this kind of activity going on over the last few months...and THAT was what the reference was about.
Limbaugh has been an ardent supporter of the military for years. He routinely helps raises huge amounts of cash to support charitable causes for them and has actually gone over there to visit with them.
You don't know what you are talking about.

You are not telling your readers the entire story. He DID NOT say that any soldier who disagrees with the war is a "phony soldier." He was discussing with a caller about two soldiers in particular who had reported to the media about the war,but had lied as they had actually never been to Iraq or Afghanistan. These are the "phony soldiers" that Rush was talking about.
I was listening that day and I know what I heard.
I challenge you to provide any proof that Rush EVER said ANYONE who disagrees with the war is "Phony". Credible sources only.
Transcript:
CALLER: "What's really funny is, they [Iraq war critics] never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media."
LIMBAUGH: "The phony soldiers."
