Unless YOU made the choice to separate the kittens from their mum, I have news for you: YES, they ARE still nursing off of mum--YOU just haven't been around to see this, or you have them separated from their mum so that they can't. This is NOT healthy for kittens that are only 4 weeks old. The VERY earliest that a kitten should be weaned is 6 weeks. The ideal is 8 to 10 weeks. But a 4-week old kitten may not even survive being taken from his/her mum this early. At this age they DO still need mums milk to maintain their health and growth. At 4 weeks old, they need their mum for much more than just a good source of nutrition. This is when they are just barely able to understand the "How To Be A Cat" instructions that they learn from their mum. PLEASE, do NOT keep these kittens away from their mum or even THINK about re-homing them at this age. If you do, I can almost assure you that their will be many different behavior problems with ALL the kittens, and your mum cat may never be the same--she won't understand what happened to her babies. In short, this is way too early to either wean or re-home kittens of this age. PLEASE keep this little group together for at least another 2 to 6 weeks.

Far too young. For puppies it's 8 weeks, so I guess it's the same for kittens. They may not be feeding from mum but they still need her for security and comfort.

No way... they can't be weaned this early. 6 weeks minmum but peferably 8 weeks, Even if you don';t see them drinking from mommy. they probably still are. If they were strays in the "wild" they would feed off of mum right up until 12 weeks and even beyond. DO NOT wean the kittens...it is way to early. Wait until 8 weeks.

no, they are still too young. 8 to 10 weeks is about the right time. they may not be feeding off mum anymore but they're are still things they need to learn from her

A kitten should not be taken from the mother before 8 weeks this is a natural process and the kitten can build up its immune system also needs to learn all it can from its mother about survival

at 4 weeks they may still be nursing a little you just may not be around to witness it.
Kittens need a lot more from mom than just her milk, they need to learn the life of a cat. Giving them away to soon can mean that you have a cat that will be harder to train, may not clean himself etc etc. Please keep those kittens another 2-6 weeks longer so they can learn what being a cat is all about.

kittens normally are 6 to 8 weeks when they get rehomed even if they are not needing food from mum leaving now u would have some nervous kittens ,if they are coming to greet to you and looking very friendly thats a good sign as well

No. Kittens should stay with mum until at least six weeks. They are probably weaned by now, but still learning. Ideally, kittens should not be rehomed until after their first vaccination.

As a general rule, it should be at least 9 weeks before they leave mum.

Most cats can leave in 8 weeks ( 6 is pretty young) In Sweden special breeds, I think of Ragdoll they can't be sold till 3 months. 4 weeks they can die! Way to you to leave mommy.
