After even seeing HOLLY I feel like I need a shower just to get all that HOLLY off of me! I tell, ya, I could do with out the HOLLY all together.
And my dogs all try and drag the HOLLY out to the backyard where they can bury the HOLLY. I think they are just trying to get rid of the stench.
Laura, I agree, total (_*_)!!!

Too many people give HOLLY as a gift, and sometimes it's gifted into unsuspecting homes. Homes not prepared to properly care or provide for the long term keeping of HOLLY.
It grows to become too large to be inside HOLLY, so they put it outside. Not knowing thier HOLLY needs trained (and contained) it becomes wild. And that's when the real problem occurs. For it is at this point that the recipient of the HOLLY becomes frustrated, at his patience end, abusive to the HOLLY. Sometimes even loading it into a car and driving it to a lone dirt road somewhere to cast is out, or jus tossing it out on the street where it will live or die.
Oh, many times certain people will take the HOLLY in, rescuing it, if you will, from a hard life or death ... but then the next year more HOLLY is made (in both licensed Holly Mills and by unlicensed backyard breeders) and the cycle continues.
Sure, the HOLLY MILL operator will argue how healthy her HOLLY is, and the backyard breeder will argue how cheap her HOLLY is, but at the end of the day when all the HOLLY has been sold, gifted, abused, discarded and left to burdon those that must see it rescued ... we, the public, keep buying more HOLLY. I can't figure it out.

I'll tell you, we don't put up Holly at all .. just for that reason. The males tend to lift their leg on the Holly, and the marking competition between the two of them.. Well the Holly just plain stinks after a few days.. no Holly allowed!

When I see HOLLY, I have a terrible urge to get out the machete and start chopping that crappy HOLLY to millions of shredded bits. I suppose dumping gas on the HOLLY makes it shrivel up and go away, but if I use the machete, I get he benefits from the physical exertion AND get rid of that ugly HOLLY too. Unfortunately, my dogs don't think enough of all the crappy HOLLY to even pi$$ on it.
ADDED: Thanks for the vote of confidence Cindy, but I personally concede to Kohler dog training. Can't beat that heartbreaking logic.

Oh, my good gracious, YES, Holly needs to go....

I think Holly should be banned from any ones home Holiday or not!
It is nothing but poisonous crap that no one needs to have in their home. I also know that the tons of berries produced by Holly is also poisonous too!
Holly is just bad all the way around!

This will be my puppy's first Christmas, so I havn't experienced the whole peeing/pooping on Holly, yet. I do know my sisterinlaw's Chessie used to pee on the Christmas tree constantly! Hopefully mine doesn't. If he keeps peeing on your Holly and you get sick of cleaning it up..Then sure, get rid of it! Substitute with garland or something!

Good Morning St.Lady
IMHO, your dog is a closet atheist and demonstrate her frustration by desecrating objects so dear to us christians.
When this happens again, spray her with water bottle, and say "NO" with a strong german accent.
Invisible fence around the christmas tree works as well, combined with some drug therapy. Not sure now if it's Tylenol or Aspirin.
Have a great day.
P.S. For slower learners : This is a BS answer and one should never use any "over the counter" drugs on their dogs.
