slowly and methodically. Go to a camera shop and ask if anyone can tell you more about the camera. Find out if there is a manual to read through or a good instructional book. The internet seems to be a great source for information.
When I got my pentax, I just loaded some film and played with the camera. I forgot about the other stuff I received until I felt comfortable with the basic camera and lens. If you want to spend a little money, take a class in basic photography (unless you already have basic knowledge). Talk to camera people, I found them the most helpful.

The little circle in the middle is a rangefinder. If you know how to use it you don't need to look in the window to have exactly what you want in focus. Generally what you see outside of the little circle is what you should get as far as focus is concerned. I don't have that camera so I don't know what the big circle is. With a 35mm camera you turn the aperture ring, turn the shutter speed and focus. It's amazingly simple compared to a pocket digital camera. Give me 15 seconds to find the little lock-switch the first time you hand me a Nikon 35mm. Give me a day to give up trying to set the date on a Powershot.

1) Practice taking photos with each piece of gear.
2) Visit websites devoted to Pentax cameras
3) Get a copy of the manual (s) associated with your gear.
4) Check out eBay to see what your gear is selling for.
5) Talk to people in camera stores to see what you've got.

Take them into a pro camera shop. We have a Camera Exchange. Check your yellow pages. Explain the situation and make an appointment to go in. They are generally very helpful and knowledgeable. You can also look on line for instruction manuals with the model#. See links below.

Lucky you! All the lenses you've acquired will mount to the new Pentax DSLR line - K100D, K110D, K10D. So if you ever decide to go digital you're set.

Search ebay or amazon for an instruction manual if you don't have one.
