I do not know anyone of whom I can properly ask this question. So please do not answer it unless you actually celebrate this holiday. I would like to make a Day of the Dead Altar for our scout troop haunted house (because they are so colorful and unique) but I dont want to offend anyone's religious beliefs. Is it disrespectful to do this. I would have to do it with out the normal religious symbols but some of the ones I found on the net do not have them.

Actually the webelos would make many of the items and the flowers. They are ten years old.

I would refrain from making an altar of any type in a haunted house. It is not going to be scary, and the object of the haunted house is to scare it's patrons, not pay respect to dead.
