"Me caí del pasamanos de la escalera." the "i" most have the accent on top to make the proper sentence in past time.

One week later you would say "La semana pasada me caí del pasamanos de la escalera."

not sure that is how a Spanish speaker would say it, though

I fell downstairs me caí por la escalera;

A week ago - hace una semana
