Why pick on Great Ormond Street hospital? There are hundreds of deserving charities. Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation. The list is endless. In my view they should all be funded by the Government and there should be no such thing as charity. Try telling the electorate that tax will go up to pay for them! As to giving aid to third world countries, that would be the right and proper thing to do. The wealthiest countries should be only to willing to help the poorest. The twelve richest countries known as the G12 meet and pledge aid, then forget to pay it or give aid in the form of a loan to be repaid with interest.
