Considering when the book in the bible was written stating the Law is bondage etc. It still makes no sense to me if Jesus followed the law til his leaving earthly ground.

How many do you think Christians should follow the law?

It's amazing to me that many of you can write such rubbish.

Firstly, modern Judaism is not a 'corrupt' version. It's the religion Jesus himself followed. In fact Reform Judaism is probably what Jesus would have advocated the most.

Secondly, the Jews did not 'reject' Jesus. They knew him as a Rabbi, a teacher; there were many such men. We do not regard him as the messiah; he is not mentioned by name once in the Torah or any other of our scriptures. Plus Jews believe that when the real messiah arrives we will know because certain conditions will be met, such as peace on earth.

Thirdly: the Jews did not stone Jesus. He was killed by the Romans, not the Jews.

Actually, Jesus violated several of the laws. He healed people on the Sabbath, didn't worry about ritual cleansing before eating, said nothing of the fourth Commandment (keeping the Sabbath day holy) though He DID mention all others...

One of the things the Bible DOES say on the matter is that if a person was never under the Law, there's no reason for them to place themselves under the Law if they accept Christ. I can't remember the exact verse at the moment, but I'm sure it'll come to me. If not, I'm sure someone else knows it.

The law existed until Jesus died on the cross.

From then on, grace was the operating principle.

Nobody except Jesus ever managed to keep the law, and it's highly unlikely you ever could either.

Doesn't that tell you something about the necessity of Christ and his grace, rather than the condemnation of the law?

And why would Jesus have bothered to come here and die for us, if the law was sufficient?

The law never saved anyone. Never could. Never did. Never will.

God's grace is sufficient.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law. He also established a new way for salvation-"No one can come to the Father except by me". He reduced 600+ laws down to 2: Love God with all your heart, and Love your neighbor as yourself".. That's why Christians study the Law, but don't practice the Law, because being wound up in keeping every little law gets in the way of a greater love-it turns you into a Pharisee instead of a follower.

I'm a Muslim and I follow the law, How can anyone throw away the laws of God ?? All believers must follow the laws otherwise they become Hypocrites of their own believes. Remember Christians that Jesus (pbuh) NEVER said that you are done away with the laws, in fact he said quite the opposite. And you will not fool God with this ''Jesus fulfilled the Law''. If you continue that same verse, or read the verse just before it you will understand that Jesus said that he did NOT abolish the Laws. Remember, God gave us these Laws for our own Good, he wants them DONE on this earth not abandoned like they mean nothing.

Quite easy. Jews stoned Jesus (John 10:30-33) and at that point there was a split. Those that follow Jesus and those that condone stoning our Lord. I'm not religious in any way but like pointing out stuoopid things in the bible to those that don't read it.

The Jews rejected Jesus as the Christ, That is the reason we are Christians.
God gave man the law knowing man could not live up to the law correct?
God is a righteous and perfect God that does not agree with any sin.
It is the reason God came to the world in the form of man to overcome temptation and remain perfect and pay the penalty for man's sin which is death and overcome sin and death,
Christians are by faith made new and in agreement with God's righteousness they are not under law but perfected in Christ and if they are made new they are in agreement with God's righteousness why would they be under law?
Isn't the law for a man who is in agreement with sin?
The law could not make man righteous but God makes a man righteous through the atonement.

Edit to B. Jesus said the law is to the end of the world but he also said he fulfilled the law, those like the Muslims who do not accept the atonement are very much under law...but remember those who fail under the law inherit death.
Christ came to the world ot overcome the penalty of law (death) and to make his people perfect and in agreement with God's righteousness...do you know anyone without sin? The law does not make a man righteous but should show you your need for God.

Yes, all Christians should follow the Law. That means following Christ, because he made clear that he fulfilled the Law's requirements upon us. He is the only person who, by his indwelling presence, makes it possible to comply with the Law.

Jesus did not follow Levitical law while he was on Earth.

Paul goes into this in great detail if you would care to read the New Testament.

We uphold God's law, we do not have a license to commit immorality, but Moses is not our magistrate or king. Christ only followed God's law, not the laws of the priests. The priests said that it was unlawful to do any work on the Sabbath but Christ said that it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath. The priests said it was sinful to associate with Gentiles and sinners but Christ sat with them. The priests said that certain foods were unclean but Christ said that what you eat is not as important as what you speak. The Jewish priests were always condemning Christ for not following the law and for saying things that put himself equal with God.
