I am using Ubuntu 7.04 - 2.6.20 kernel.I need to activate my wireless USB disk by updating the kernel to 2.6.22.4.The present kernel is not able to provide me the proper driver for that USB disk.I knew this becos the same disk works in Fedora7.

I installed NDISWRAPPER but its unable to see my wireless disk.I tried wifirader too but no success in Ubuntu.
My question is.. how to upgrade my kernel in ubuntu without internet connection?I can download the kernel thro Fedora and put it in shared drive to use back in Ubuntu. If can, what are the things to download and how to go about?
Pl explain in simple language as I am not an IT man.
Thanks in advance.

Go to a friend's house and download the latest Ubuntu and burn (not Copy) the ISO to disk.

Then, install on your PC as a Live CD only and make sure it recognizes your WiFi USB device. If so, install to your hard drive.

If not, re-post with specific details, like the WiFi manufacturer, and maybe we can help.
