and we could actually see them and play with them and they wold be smart, wage no wars, will not desriminate and there would be and end to pesky rodents!

Cats are ferocious hunters, predators one and all... peacefull? just kinda lazy looking when they are saving up their energy for the kill...

Sounds like you don't really have much understanding of Egyptian religion.
Bast was not really a cat, but a goddes in cat form.
Worship is not really what you (and most people) seem to think it is.
Just because people back then mummified cats does not mean they were worshiped. Ever been to a pet cemetary?
And if you had a massive mouse and rat problem wouldn't you "worship" cats who could controll the rodents? I do.
ps, it was an Asp, not a cobra that bit Cleopatra.

The Egyptians saw cats as a gift from Bast. The cats killed the rats that ate the foodstuffs and carried disease. They saw this as a great blessing(wouldn't you?). Although Bast has a nasty side too, she is generally loving, like a cat.

At one time we had 24 cats in the house, with a few visiting ones. It was really peaceful whenever we were away from the house.
Least godly lot they were.

my little brother has a cat and my little sister has a dog. they're about the same size, and they like to wrestle together. i've never seen anything like it. they're best buddies...
