No,

- My first instinct was to say no because you haven’t specified what risk it would take and I don’t like taking unknown risks.
- Then I thought yes, I would take the risk to know the truth once and for all.
- But, I have to say no because who would believe me if I came back to earth. Even if I came back from the dead, a newly risen person like Jesus Christ himself, without some sort of physical proof that can’t be denied no one would believe me and then I would have to spend the rest of my life either knowing I am going to hell and so hating to take any risks, or I would know that I would go to heaven and then have to live out the hell on earth until I die naturally, because committing suicide would only send me to hell.

Besides, the bible doesn’t promise that you will go to hell or heaven after death. It promises that the dead shall be raised for the final battle against evil and then the winners will go to heaven. The victory isn’t assured, nor are you told which body you will have to use to fight with. I was trained in the US Army so I could fight when I was not disabled, but what if I live to old age and am infirm, or what if I get cremated? In those cases I wouldn’t have a body capable of winning in the battle I would be assured of an easy defeat and so condemned to hell.

Then I don’t believe in God or the afterlife. I think that it is a scam to control the masses left over from the Middle Ages and the Feudal System and never was a valid concept in the first place. So because I don’t believe in God I wouldn’t go to heaven at all. Although I refuse to believe that a “loving God” would be so vengeful as to condemn me to hell, if I live a good life, simply because I refuse to submit to the evils of organized religions; which are responsible for more horror, more evil, more bloodshed and more sins than any single human institution in history.

Just try to defend the Spanish Inquisition, the deliberate retardation of science, the burning of heretics who claimed the Earth revolved around the sun, the genocide policy of Spain in the New World (convert to Christianity or die), the destruction of the Myan and Aztec civilizations, the murder of Jesus, which had to be done because that was part of his deal with God, the subjugation of the populace under the Feudal System, the childhood rapes, and the policy of forcing children to suffer years of child abuse because they refuse to allow abortion.

Religion has its place and its benefits, but ORGANIZED religion is the single greatest evil known to mankind.

That's why things like the Sefer Yetzirah were banned in early ages as they are climbing babel also secret societies will fall under these areas where there is great debate. I could only think there is a reason for everything, so I hope.

No, I don't have to do that to have a certainty about heaven and hell.

In one way, I sort of have done that. I have died to living the selfish - "It's all about me" life. In the Bible, the apostle, Paul is quoted(in part) as saying, "I die daily". I make continuing choices to live out my belief that the Bible is true and accurate. I've read the Bible, cover to cover at least 5 times and some parts even more than that. It is an amazing book and actually has an astounding consistency of thought and principle.

I believe you can know, too. All you have to do is speak to God and ask Him to reveal himself to you. If you are sincere, I know He will communicate with you. I've read believable accounts of people who did that and it changed their life. I did something sort of like that when I was 18 years old. I had made a suicide plan and called a crisis line to see if they would talk me out of my despair. They got me in touch with a Christian group of people. I went there a time or two and asked Jesus to give me what the folks there had. He did that on October 21, 1971. I've gotten to know him throughout the years since then. I would not take ANYTHING instead of my relationship with him. He is trustworthy, loving and powerful. I am so glad I know Him. I do know I will go to be with God in heaven when I die. Death doesn't scare me anymore.

If this is a serious question for you I hope you find out soon, how much God loves you. I don't think it's an accident that your mind is beginning to ask these kind of questions. I think God is inviting you to come closer.

I understand what you are asking, and it is an interesting question.
But no I wouldn't. For two reasons.
First, because the Bible tells us to not tempt the Lord thy God.
Second, if my faith is not strong enough to believe in Gods word, that I have believed in all this time, and I feel that I have to have proof in something that I have believed in, then I don't have the faith that I claim to have.
I know there is a Heaven and a hell, I don't have to be shown before I really die to believe.

I have already died to myself and have come to know the truth: That God tells the truth, and always keeps His promises.

It's through His Spirit that I know that there is a life after death. And His word, which are in agreement with one another.

To carry on with your hypothetical, no. I would not. Because I know that what Jesus said was true: If people will not believe in what Moses and the prophets said, they will not believe even if someone raises from the dead.
Luke 16:31
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

Hell no! Or better yet ... Heavens no.
If I risk my life to find out if there is a heaven and hell and I died I would never get the answer. Why? Because I would be dead. Why risk my life to know if imaginary places exist, when I already know the answer?

If you're able to come back to earth, you're not really risking your life. And actually risking your life would be equally pointless because we're all going to die anyway.

There is absolutely no reason to believe there is such a thing as heaven or hell. I wouldn't risk anything on a proposition so flimsy.

Depends on what that "Heaven & Hell" entailed.

If it was Pat's POed fire & brimstone. Nope. That's OK.

If it had a more mellow spiritual groove, that might be cool.

No.
Whatever exists I hope I am not living my life solely on the basis of reward or punishment after death.
