Good point like in anything there is a setting up and that is in the old testament. It shows the nature of God how he loves and protects those who trust and believe in him, and follow his instructions. There he is a God of his people and tries to guide and direct them to do what is write, and at times seeing how loyal they are. The New testament is where God in the flesh or God's son comes to earth. Through his teachings, and his actions one gains a clearer understanding of who God is and what he is really wanting. He knows that we all are not perfect, and sin, and even mess up our lives. He is still with us, all he is wanting is for you to show faith that he is real, and ask (pray) for his help, guidance and to gain a better understanding of what his will for your life is. Once you place your trust in God, and show faith in him he will begin to work in your life. Things will not always go the way you want, but there again, you have to trust him and listen to what he tells you. Oh yes you can hear the voice of God. It is not a shout, or a loud voice, but you will here him and know when it is him talking to you. That is why after you pray you should set aside some time to meditate. Think about what your prayed and calm yourself. Almost to the point where you think nothing at all except about God, and what his will is. Believe me the quiet time you set aside will be interrupted from every possible way. That's why it is so important to pick a good time of day for use, bed time or early morning. The devil will go way out of his way to see that your time with God is interrupted by outside events. You just have to keep focused and relax. Turn off the cell phone, computer, or whatever may interrupt you. Then you read the bible please understand that it is historical fact with areas of stories to cause you to think and reflect on them. One thing I hear a lot of is about the death of Jesus in Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. All three tell the story of arrest and crucifixion of Christ. Each is written by a different person who witness’ it. So the account will naturally vary from one to another. Just like having 4 or 5 people witness the same terrible event. Each one will consider some things more impotent than others, so they tend to remember and write about what they thought was important or odd about it. It does not mean that once source should be valued over another, but looked at as a whole. That way you can gain better understanding of the event. I know that the idea of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit seem to confuse a lot of people, it is very simple to explain. If you want e-mail me and I will go into that issue with you. Just please remember that true Christians’ to not bomb abortion clinics or do things like that. NO where in the bible does it say to kill or judge. That is only Gods right and only he has that power. Listen to some of Charles Stanley's sermons on www.intouch.org. They are really good and he shows one how the bible is just as relevant today as it was so long ago. He is a good place to start when wanting to understand what the bible is saying and how we can apply it and how we should be using it today. Hope this helped you some. Sorry about the long answer, I tend to get a little wordy when I try to explain things. =)

The bible is actually a document of revisionist history, that had been translated many times for the purpose of supporting most of the christian based religious theories. I believe that most of the "miraculous" events presented in this document, are actually attempts to explain the activity of UFOs. I am not Jewish, but I believe the tribe that left Egypt were the original Jews. I also accept that the ten commandants are instruction for all of human behavior. And I try to honor them.

The old testament convicts you and in the new testament Jesus shows you the only way to get out of the mess.If you want to be saved here is what I did..........I went in my room and said Jesus I am a sinner.I believe You died on the cross. Please forgive my sins.Come into my heart. And Jesus filled me with peace and love.It was real.No religion crap.No imagination.Real as real can be.I yelled Jesus saved me.and I have been following Him ever since.

Interesting that you see the Bible that way. Of course you cannot go beyond yourself without help - and that can only come from the power of an indwelling Christ.
