I was having a lucid dream last night, and while I was enjoying the interesting experience of walking in the air, jumping off a cliff and landing softly on my feet -- I was getting bored of it and wanted to leave the dream. But I couldn't. I tried to scream, and I couldn't. I was stuck inside of my dream.

I tried to say to myself, "WAKE UP!!!!!" but that didn't do anything. I tried to think about my body laying in bed and tried to move. That didn't work either.

I started to get very frustrated because I wanted to leave my dream but I couldn't.

Do you guys have any suggestions? I hope that someday I don't get permanently stuck in one of these lucid dreams!

That's interesting. My very first experience with Lucid dreaming had me in the same situation.

I didn't go far from my body though, so i could see myself. I tried to lift my arm or jump back in and tried to talk, but it didn't work. I actually became very frightened and thought i couldn't get back in. finally i layed down with my body and tried to place myself in the exact same position. there I thought about and focused on the connection of skin to my, somewhat transparent, finger.

It worked. I twiched, or jumped and woke up in a sweat.

I dont remember ever being that scared before or even after. Just felt like i had no control over my body and that i would be stuck in that state forever. gives me chills thinking about it.

After that i studied lucid dreaming and actually got kind of good at it. Life took over and i stopped. Now i can't remember how. maybe someday. but i sure do miss it.

So, the answer: place your lucid self in the same position as your body and focus on the connection at a small juncture like your finger or toe or nose...something. once you feel you have that connection, lift your finger and you should reconnect. again, it only happened to me once and that was how i did it. no guarantees as to if it will work for you.

You won't get stuck in a lucid dream. You need to go with the flow of it and you have to let your spirit get back to your body and align itself properly before waking up otherwise you can wake up all spaced out and not grounded properly. Don't force it, let the dream come to the end naturally, there was probably more to dream but you became impatient and didn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I love those dreams, I have them all the time. I find when I have one of those I have good energy the next day.

Usually when I scream, I wake myself up from lucid dreams. Maybe you should try the opposite. Just close your eyes in the dream and tell yourself to go to sleep so you can wake up in the real world.

Do you feel like you are awake but your body wont respond like you are paralyzed?
I usually get the paralyzed dreams and I usually just try to make a noise so my husband wakes me up, but if you are alone then try to move by controlling your breathing to where you are breathing fast, the movement alone gets your body sort of moving and you can wake yourself up that way.

Throw some cold water on your face. That for sure will wake you up, lol! This is just a joke of course, how can you throw water on your face if you're asleep, I know...
