Why would you need to talk to your girlfriend regularly to stimulate and strengthen your relationship?

all it is is a relationship. The more time you spend with someone the stronger that relationship is, and that is why you should read your Bible regularly.

It should never be a chore. I do it not because i have to, but because i want to. I go to church not because i have to, but because i want to. I want to have a closer relationship with God. It would be foolish of me to want to live this life and not be close to the very being that gave it to me. That would deem this all as pointless.

What it all comes down to is, do you want to have a closer relationship with God? When you die do you want to hear "Well done my good and faithful servant" or "Depart from me, I never knew you"? it is all up to you, and it all depends on how you live your life here and now.

Blessings upon you my friend.

The reason why is because the Spirit of God teaches and comforts us. When we are in His word, we connect with that life of the Spirit, and that Spirit begins to change us. So the more contact and time spent upon God and His word, the more time we are influenced by His Spirit, who gives us the ability to understand what's being said. And then most importantly: Learn to trust God more than we did before.

You want a really good strong Christian life? Use these sayings often:
"Yesterday's faith will not get you through today."
God is trustworthy, He always keeps His word."
Any time I tell myself, "I don't feel like reading the Bible, what good will it do," I will be sure that I sit down and read the Bible. Because that part of myself needs to shut the Hell up.
lol ( but seriously)

Because your spiritual body is like your physical one, you have to clean it regularly like washing it with soap of any kind. The bible is just another brand of soap.

You can also read Bhagavad gita, Upanishad, Srimad Bagavatam, Koran, Book of Mormon, Secret Doctrine, etc.

Try Satanic Bible, too, perhaps you will agree with Anton LaVey. He said: "Satan is the best friend the church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years!"

Christians don't even read the bible and when they do they skip over the evil parts and focus on the happy parts. They fail to realize the God of the OT is the Same god in the NT.

So that we will mature and get to know God and His purpose for our individual lives as well as for mankind. We dont 'have' to read the bible to be saved but if we wont to move into the fullness of what God has for us and grow spiritually then we need Gods Word to feed us spiritually.

The Scripture makes it clear that you can't get it : '... for the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18). So - when are you going to get saved. Cause, till then you are going nowhere.

Christianity, rather than being a religion, is a relationship. We have a relationship with God, and to build any relationship requires regular time spent interacting.

Why do you have to regularly EAT?

We have to feed our spiritual hunger as well

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
