so this guy that i've been talking to for quite sometime just informed me that his house is going to be empty for the weekend, and that i should come over and watch a movie with him, and he's gonna make dinner. i'm not going out with him, so is this a setup to get in my pants or to actually be a romantic evening.?

Well, the other are correct. It really depends on the guy. My boyfriend invites me over to his place all the time, but we don't do anything but hangout. Then again, he and I are together, but you and this guy are not. Get to know him better and just be careful about whatever decision you make.

if you haven't gone out with him before, then he's probably hoping he's going to get into your panties.....if his intent was any type of romantic encounter, don't you think he'd try to at least take you out on a REAL date first?......it's a little presumtive to invite you over to the house where there is a bed readily available.....either that, or he's just a cheap bast*ard and you may want to ask youself what future dates may be like.....but i'm betting he's just hoping to get lucky
