I know that once a person dies, she must go into the light. But, where does this light leads to? Is it the gateway / does it leads the dead to heaven, Purgatory or hell?

Once the dead steps into the light, can she still comes back to the world of the living again?

And finally, is it good for the dead to continue to remain on this world? If the dead wanted to remain on this world, must she ask the permission from God?

gee... "must go into the light"? why do you think that "must" happen? the after death experience might be completely different for each individual.

folks can tell you of their beliefs, their hopes, their fears, their faith and their theories but no one really knows.

PS. i had a NDE and i didn't see a tunnel or a light and i didn't meet Jesus (i was Christian at the time) or any of my departed loved ones. and no, i didn't go to any hell. i did indeed experience something but it was totally unique and unexpected.

Those who have the ability to communicate with souls after they die (YES, such people do exist) have shared their experiences with me. Once a person dies, they often remain in our realm for a time. We cannot see them, hear them, etc. but they are here. They know they are dead. Often they may express dismay over the suffering their death has caused to those they love. Normally by the time the evening of the funeral has come, the soul departs to meet its fate in the other life. The light seems to represent a doorway or portal that they must go through.

Yes, the dead may return to our realm again. My dead uncle once appeared to his brother. He looked very sad. My uncle John who saw him had a drinking problem. We believe that our dead uncle, Alphonse, appeared as a warning. My uncle John died in 2000 from complications of a stroke caused by his alcoholism.

In religious terms, we call such encounters appartitions. They often involve religious figures like Jesus, or the Virgin Mary. Some saints have appeared to the living as well. There are also reports of souls from Purgatory who come to appeal to the living for their mercy. Often they seek Masses, prayers, or other sacrifices so they can be delivered.

In general, it is NOT good for souls to remain here. Such souls become ghosts. They are often confused, frightened, and sometimes hostile or violent. I do not believe that they ask for permission to stay. They either do not understand they have died or they refuse to move on. In such cases, experts often have to help to get these souls to realize that they are dead and must leave our realm.

No one knows what happens after death. All we know is what the Bible teaches us and the Bible teaches us that the flesh returns to dust for which it came from. So we was made from dirt and we will return to dirt when we die. But we are more then the flesh. We are made of a spirit being. And this spirit being goes back to God for which it came from aslo. This is what the Bible teaches us. I know that the Light is God and we do go to the Light. For God is the truth, the Light and the way. Thank you and God Bless you.

We hear about this light business, you're right! Assuming it's true, it takes the person down the path to his or her judgment - heaven or hell.

As for coming back, we have heard that too. It's probably the grace and mercy of God to allow that person to come back for a reasons we don't know.
