The only way you are going to hell is if you aren't running after a personal relationship with the Lord. As far as gay marriage goes, the bible is actually very clear that it is a sin. However, as Christians we aren't supposed to be judging them. That is a sin too. In God's eyes, no sin is worse than another. So if I were to lie to someone, I would be just as sinful as a man who is sleeping with another man. We all sin. If we didn't then Jesus wouldn't have had to die for us! I'm not going to tell you what to do, but maybe Catholicism isn't the right denomination to help you glorify God. That's what church is supposed to be about anyways right? I think people get so caught up in the facts and the motions that they forget to really make it personal and just delight in the lord. So no, you are no more "bad" than anyone else "under the sun" (ecclesiastes). Keep chasing the faith. Trust me, it is the best thing you could ever do.

The Catholic Church is against gay marriage and abortion.
The Fifth Commandment is "You shall not kill." Abortion is the act of killing an unborn child. From the very first moment of their existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person. You did not become a person the moment you were born; you became a person the instant you were conceived. This is most clearly pointed out in Luke 1:39-44.
Abortion has been condemned since the earliest writings of the Church. The Didache, a first century writing, says:
"You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not seduce boys. You shall not commit fornication. You shall not steal. You shall not practice magic. You shall not use potions. You shall not procure abortion, nor destroy a new-born child. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods. You shall not perjure yourself." (2,2-3)
Contraceptive drugs (including "the pill") act in three major ways: 1st, they prevent the release of the egg from the ovaries; 2nd, they thicken the mucus in the reproductive tract, making it more difficult for the sperm to reach the egg; and 3rd, should the egg manage to be released and fertilized, thus forming a new human being, they cause the wall of the uterus to prevent implantation, thus causing the new child to be aborted.
The Catholic Church opposes homosexual activity because it is intrinsically disordered, an abuse of our human nature. But legalizing same-sex marriage would also have harmful effects on society.

According to God in the bible it does state that woman was made for man and man for woman. In todays society being gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc depends on your point of view of if it's wrong or not. Christians know it's wrong but that doesn't mean that gays need to be treated any differently. Abortion does affect you if you truely love Jesus Christ, God, etc. People shouldn't have the right to choose to take life away when they weren't the Creator. I understand there are cases where abortion would be considered such as rape....but again who are we to take away what God created?

"im christian-catholic. is it bad for me to not be for gay marriage? ( im not gay)?"
I am going to appeal to the Christian side of you, okay? Forget Gay marriage. Preach the Gospel. Jesus didn't tell us to oppose Gay marriage. He told us to preach the Gospel.
Is it bad for you to not oppose it? No. It may be something that God has taught you. You might have resistance from other Roman Catholics, and many Protestants, but you will not get me to tell you that you can't. I was taught to live my convictions, and preach Christ. And that's what I am doing.
"also for abortion. currently its legal, but i really dont care if it becomes illegal or stays legal. is that bad too? i mean as long as it doesnt affect me i dont care..."
Smae answer here. Preach Christ. Personally I am so against abortion that I can spit, but you are not me. Live your convictions and preach Christ.

If you did a bit of research, you would find that the church teaches that both abortion and gay marriage are not a good idea. However, by all means, this doesn't mean you have to dislike gay people or people who have had an abortion. It's not that the church is against gays themselves, merely the action. :)

God cares.
Homosexuality and abortion are both seriously disordered behaviors and objectively are mortal sins.
Catholics are obliged to oppose evil, and to stand up for God's truth ... not to condone serious sin.
As a Catholic, your attitude is totally inappropriate, and may constitute a sin of omission.
It all depends on how invincibly ignorant you might actually be.

I'm a Christian too, one thing I had to realize w/myself is that "sinning" & "living in sin" is most definitely 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. So to me, I don't have much a problem w/homo. as I use to do, cause I know what God can do(in terms of changing ones life around). I don't agree w/ homo. relationships but I won't be evil to them just because they are. All I can do is pray.
Yes God loves everyone. If that person know it's wrong in the back of his head he/she keeps getting that itch like this thing is wrong, & I know it without a doubt BUT they keep on, I would consider that "living in sin" which can be a problem.
Abortion...your murdering a life...I don't know anyway else to put it.

As the Bible says, marriage is clearly defined to be between a man and a woman; No exceptions!
Abortion is the murder of innocent children and I'm pretty sure that Christ came and taught against murder and killing, not to mention the Ten Commandments say that you shall not murder.
P.S. It shouldn't have to directly affect you for it to be important...

You don't need to be FOR or AGAINST it. Being neutral is fine. Not everyone gets into the issues. However, if either issue affects you in a way that violates your rights then you should stand up and speak out.

Did you mean to ask "Is it bad for me to be FOR gay marriage?"? These are both political issues by the way. I don't see why you have to go along with what other people in your religion are doing when it comes to politics.
