I've been telling people for quite some time about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. He promised to come back in the clouds with 10 thousands of His saints. (Jude, Enoch)
So yes, if you read on in Zechariah 14, you will see what happens to the land and the armies that gather at Jerusalem.
Jesus is coming back.
You can search this further by examining Isaiah 61: 1-2. Where the Day of Vengeance is told about as a part of verse 2. But in Luke 4, Jesus stops BEFORE reading that part of Isaiah about the Day of Vengeance, and tells that these scriptures are fulfilled. There is no Day of Vengeance until Zechariah 14 happens. That is called a 'Gap Theory'.

Yes in my humble opinion the Lord will stand on the mount of Olives. Job knew that Jesus had died in our place and his place so that we may live again one day. Jesus is coming back to take what is his and what has been his all alone. This earth and his people, the church. When he came the first time Jesus came to die for our sins and then he was raised up to his Father in Heaven. Now when Jesus comes back again he will come in a great Glory to defend his people and his Land for which he created. There is a time for everything up under the sun. There will be a day when every eye will see Jesus and every tongue will worship and confess Jesus. Jesus has declared this. And it will come to pass. God Bless you.

An insurmountable difficulty facing those who try to interpret apocalyptic prophecy literally is that the Bible very simply says that no man has ever seen God. Not only that, Jehovah told Moses that no man may see God and live.
It is simply out of the realm of possibility that mere humans can ever have an up-close-and-personal encounter with God. We cannot even glance directly at the sun for more than a few seconds without doing permanent damage to our eyes. How do you suppose we shall look upon the Creator of billions upon billions of suns without instantly vaporizing?
Jehovah made us with the intention of our having a spiritual relationship with him. In order for us to be able to relate to him, God has revealed himself in human terms. Jehovah likens himself to humans anthropomorphically.
Thus, we read in Genesis that Jehovah strolled about in the Garden of Eden about the breezy part of the day. Since we already know that Adam could not literally see God and survive, it is evident that the expression is intended to help us appreciate the intimate spiritual communion that Adam had with God before he rebelled. In that same sense, then, we may be sure that Jehovah is not literally coming down to stand upon the Mount of Olives.

Both Job and Ezekiel wer referring to the eventual appearance of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Didn't Jesus preach atop the Mount of Olives? And He spiritually divided the earth in two - believers and unbelievers!
He is Wonderful like that!

Job did not try to hide despair and auguish, but, as this verse shows, the trails never crushed all of his hope.
Zechariah makes it clear that the end result of earth's turmoil will be good news for all followers of God.
This is talking about the coming of Jesus Christ.

It means to provide security for the Iraqi people until the Iraqi government can do it themselves. But the Iraqi government is acting too much like the American government, too busy squabbling over petty issues to get anything significant done. As for those Republicans you talk about, they are morons. We started the fight in Afghanistan before the one in Iraq, so to say we must finish Iraq before finishing Afghanistan is stupid.

Hi Sandra. I think it meant that the Lord's presence would be known and not that he would be there physically. Just a guess.:)
