BM's can be stationed anywhere there's a naval installation. While it's mainly a sea going rate, like all in the Navy there are shore billets for BM's. There are also alternatives to doing sea duty on ships, we had a few BM's of the ships I was stationed on that went on to become assault boat coxswains, and LCAC pilots, and one that took a billet as a craft master on LCU's.

Every rate in the Navy has a set sea to shore rotation, meaning how long one is stationed at sea and how long one is stationed on shore. BM's shore rotation, if I recall is 5 and 3. Meaning 5 years of sea duty and 3 years of shore, or something similiar in length to that. Its possible to leave A school and then go directly to a shore command, which can be anywhere from Qatar to California for a BM and then go to any ship in the fleet. The needs of the Navy determine when and where someone will be stationed.

Pretty much anywhere, I think..
If I remember correctly the Navy's 2 largest shipyards are in Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA. Lots of ships; lots of BM billets.

Black men are stationed, just like any other man, or woman for that matter, according to their MOS or military occupational specialty. Not according to their race or gender.
Oh, are we talking about the American Navy, or which Navy? You may wish to join another navy. I've included a few links to other navies, in case you wish to compare. Good luck, mate.
