OMG there's a lot of ill-informed answers here!!
Let's look at the facts - millions of E's are consumed worldwide every weekend. The number of deaths as a direct result of taking E is incredibly small. There is more chance of you getting hit by a car outside a club after your night out!
I'm not condoning the use of any drug, but too many people get caught up in the hype & lose touch with the facts....
Yes, any death resulting from drug use is tragic, but the chances of it happening are extremely slim.
If you're going to do E, make sure you keep drinking water throughout the night & take a break off the dance floor every once in a while!!! It's dehydration and overheating that causes deaths, not an overdose on MDMA.....

I am not Catholic but I can tell you that it is a sin because you are hurting yourself. If you need a quote from the Bible, here goes: "Your body is the temple of God."
You are also breaking the commandment of loving God. If you love God, why would you want to Hurt Him by hurting yourself?
Sin is a common sense thing (usually), not a legalistic matter.

doing MDMA should definitely fall under the category of mortal stupidity. Unless destroying brain cells that God gave you isn't stupidity in your book?
Maybe a Catholic can give you an answer with some sort of Catholic source material on it.

According to the Bible, the body is a temple. Any recreational drug use would be abuse of the body.
Taking the drug, knowing that you can go to Confession after is called the sin of presumption. Not good at all.
Stay away from the dope.

To be a mortal sin, to Catholics it has to fulfill all 3 of the under: a million. its subject could be a grave (or severe) rely; 2. it would be dedicated with finished know-how, the two between the sin and of the gravity of the offense; 3. it would be dedicated with planned and finished consent Wikkipedia and RCIA class.
