I have the typical very thick and stick-straight hair and I long for curls. I had a spiral perm when I was 10 but it fell out within a couple weeks. Was this maybe because my hair was so young? My hair is not coarse and is about armpit length. When I curl it with an iron or curlers it falls out in 3 hours, maybe 4 (even sleeping in the sponge curlers). Should I try a perm again?

My hair is like yours & I wouldn't recommend a spiral perm unless you are prepared to deal w/ a lot of volume.

I had a perm 8 weeks ago & my hair went wild; way too much volume @ the roots & hard to manage.

If you really must try a perm - see someone who has lots of experience w/ your hair type & book a consultation to make sure you are prepared.

You can try. I also have very heavy straight hair. I find that my hair is too heavy for a perm. I recently cut my hair because I was tired of always wearing in a ponytail. I really like it and the style doesn't fall out in the first 15 minutes. Good luck on whatever you decide to do though!

I even have thick asian hair too and all i did became ask the hairdresser to skinny it out plenty. so now it appears that evidently and feels plenty lighter. and that i study someplace that in case you have thick hair, having a quick haircut in straightforward terms makes your hair seem larger, so becoming it out may be a stable concept. ive additionally gotten a rapidly perm two times a pair years in the past. rapidly perms actually didnt injury my hair (and that i've got hair that needs moisture and is somewhat in direction of the dry area). they made it extra plausible and delicate. yet the two between the perms have been performed in taiwan, so i'm uncertain if the in many cases happening and technique or in spite of the fact that is a similar in the u.s.

A spiral perm would probably be awesome looking..but it depends on the shape of your face...because you dont want to make your face look fat..if you have a round face already...
Id say..go to a stylist and ask them..for their professional opinion..
