I think he's turned more into a jerk, but do you know what this sport would be like with out the jerks?...BORING! We need young drivers who think they're better than they really are, it gives us something to be pissed off about.
I tried to get into IRL racing the past two years, but the drivers all have such a bland personality, I didn't care one way or another about them, nor the whole season for that matter. Their points championship was decided by 3 points, on the last lap of the last race, coming out of turn 4, and I didn't even care enough to sit up.
Now you take a racer like Stewart or Hamlin, people love him or they hate him. At least they feel one way or another about him. Weather you want him to win or loose, at least you care about something. Hopefully, these young guys keep making the fans angry, NASCAR needs it.

Nahhh. Denny's alright. I think having a bit of hard luck might be wearing on him. He's had a few bad luck situations in the last several weeks and he's probably been getting a little bit frustrated.
I love the Gibbs boys, and I'm the biggest Stewart and Hamlin fan you'll find anywhere, so I might be a bit biased. I'm sure hanging around Tony Stewart has helped Denny form a persona as well :-P

I think he is feeling more pressure in the Chase this year than he did last year, as a rookie. The sophomore year of a driver's Cup career has been tough on many drivers, and Denny is trying to get through his "sophomore curse." He has shown that he is not a flash in the pan--it looks as though he has a brilliant future ahead of him. Also, I think the media attention is affecting him. It is nothing that a win wouldn't cure.

Actually I think all the drivers change once they have had some seat time for a little while. Even Kasey Kahne seems different since the announcement of his new sponsorship.
As far as in the last few races between him being sick and disappointed in the problems he had at Kansas I would think it is weighing in pretty heavy on him.
I think the chase itself puts a lot of stress on all of the drivers involved in the chase.

What makes him Hollywood? Because he was seen one night at the Nascar chase banquet with Paris Hilton??? Come-on if you had all this bad luck & some old washed-up driver who can't even race in your face, your temper would flare too? He's an awesome driver & that's all that matters!!!!

Yes he has changed but no its not his fault. I think his losing streak might be doing something to his attitude. He doesnt seem as friendly anymore and he's getting a bit down to this season. Can you blame him though? Hes trying hard but cant do anything.

I don't know. He's trying to mature w/in the sport but I'm having a hard time liking this guy. He sure does drive rough and idiotic @ times for a kid that has proved he has skill and patience. Maybe it's just because he's Smokes teammate... And something about going to those Toyotas next season. Either way, He's a force to be reckoned w/ when it comes to winning a Sprint Cup in the future.

yeah....he's trying too hard to live up to an image that the media has put into his head....thinking he's a better driver than what he is.....just look at dover.....he's just another young and dumb idiot that doesn't know a damn thing about what it means to really work your way up and pay your dues....what happened to the old school of doing things where you actually had to "earn" your way into a ride.....i'm sure he wouldn't be caught dead eating at the waffle house on the way home from the track.....
