Total Recorder

This program is capable of recording all of the sound being produced by your computer regardless of the program. I have not tried it with DRM being played by Media Player, so I don't know if it works in that case. (from what little I've read about DRM it's not supposed to work while playing DRM stuff)
Be aware though, a lot of music and other sound that various software plays is copyrighted. (eg. LAUNCHcast...)

You could also use it to record music read in from your sound card.

Only settings your mic infront of your speaker and u dont want to do that so any sound u want to hear without running the video/website or whatever you are trying to do is download it and if its attacted to a video then just use a video/audio editor to save just the audio to a file.

The Windows Sound Recorder sucks.
Get the free Audacity, Google for it.
