Yes.
The reason you do not have to worry about salmonella in cats is because cats process their food *much* more quickly than humans, i.e. the food is not in their system long enough for the salmonella to reach toxic levels.
However, you could also experiment with different types of dry food. Your cat(s) may like another brand better.
Good luck!

Contrary to what some seem to believe, you CAN feed your cats raw eggs, unless you know their allergic obviously. I feed mine raw eggs atleast once a week. I also have cut up tiny slices of raw chicken and putt them in zip lock bags and freeze them, then when they get a treat, that's what they get, thawed of course, instead of the crap treats that are out there. This too is safe. Cats need raw things once in a while, they are still wild, tho domesticated. Do some research. I almost got so disgusted by what was in pets food that I almost starting making my own for them. Of course I did extensive research on it. But, I dont' always have the time to do that so I started feeding them the next best thing...Natural Balance. Don't feed your cats cheap food, If you're paying cheap for it, it's cheap food. Back to the main question tho, YES absolutely can feed them raw eggs. I take a fork and seperate the yellow, and throw it out, whisk it up a little and then put it on a place for them to eat, don't let it sit out longer than 20 min tho, discard what they don't eat.
Oh and also, DO NOT FEED THEM COWS MILK, it can make them very sick and even be fatal. It's horrible on their stomachs. This was for the person who posted that you should put milk in their food. Look that up and see what you get.
And for the guy below me, tuna is also great. I feed them the tuna though, they love it. Just don't feed them a lot of tuna often, cause like any other fish, mercury is a concern. Once week is good. The bad thing about pouring just the juice on their food is if they don't eat all right away, it'll go bad. Same with the tuna if they don't it all within 20 min. either put the leftovers in a container and put it in the fridge or discard it. People wouldn't eat fish or any other wet food that's been out for awhile, neither should your pets.

Since raw eggs can be a source for Salmonella, I would say no. If your kitty isn't eating his/her dry food well, maybe wet would be better. I feed wet (canned) because it is better for boy cats (I have one). It has less ash and it gives them extra water. You can also check with your vet - there are additives that are good for the cat that you can use. The tuna water idea should work, unless your kitty doesn't like tuna. I would stay away from raw food in general unless you get it somewhere that can guarantee it is safe. I have several friends that feed a raw diet, but they have to buy the ingredients at specialty stores and I know one adds something (sorry, can't remember what it is) to kill any bad germs. I wonder though, if she isn't killing the good bacteria as well. Below is a website you might want to visit.

Garlic is also something that can be used to encourage cats to eat. Be careful and use in small quantities, as it contains some of the same chemical in onions that can cause anemia in cats. Some people also have luck with baby food (onion-free) as well as the oft-mentioned tuna juice.
One of the feline CRF (chronic renal failure) sites I visit says that cooked eggs are fine - CRF cats tend to get only the whites as they are low in phosphorus, but a healthy cat could get the whole thing. They say raw egg contains something called avidin which blocks B-vitamin absorption. I wouldn't worry about Salmonella personally - raw diet cats get raw meats all the time and seem no worse for the wear.

The white of the egg is not good for the cat. I can't tell you exactly why and know that is true. So it is best to use just the yolk. I feed my cats a raw meat diet and am careful about the source of the meat to prevent any contamination. So I suggest you get your eggs from a local farmers market or those that are "organic" rather than run of the mine grocery store eggs. I would also boil the egg lightly and just put the yolk on their food. Three times a week should be fine. Cats don't make Vitamin A in their bodies so it's good for them to get some with their cat food.

I wouldn't recommend it - it's probably not too dangerous, but there's always the risk of food poisoning. Would YOU eat a raw egg? To encourage her to eat dry food, try pouring the juice from a can of tuna on it or mixing in a little wet cat food (mix it in really well, don't just dump it on top).
If you really feel the need to use eggs, my cat just LOVES scrambled eggs. Just scramble it with a bit of milk and some olive oil and she'll gobble it up!

You can try adding several different things to their food.
Egg is one, or a little water or milk to moisten the food, small bits of cheese, etc.
On the other hand, then they might start refusing to eat unless you keep adding stuff to the food. Is the cat losing weight? If it's just being picky, I'd say it'll eat when it gets hungry enough.

You know what always worked for me, tuna juice. Take a can of tuna and squeeze a little bit of the juice onto the food, not alot though, you dont want it to saturate it. They will eat it. But, every time you open a can of tuna they want some. LoL And that's OK cause I always give them a little bit of juice. :)
