Okay, I'm a Christian, but after being on this website for the past 2 1/2 hours, I've sensed that what atheists believe is thought to be worthless. We need to have respect for their beliefs too!!

Thank you. It's nice to hear someone of a different viewpoint remind everyone that atheists need respect too. I get really tired of seeing questions like "atheists have nothing to live for" and others like that. One person even went so far as to say atheists should just go ahead and kill themselves. I don't consider that a very Christian thing to say. There are far too many people who think that just because atheists have different beliefs, they are worthless to the rest of us. It's nice to know that there are still nice, respectful people here.

The same thing they have against Christians. Belief in something either being or not being there. Basically they don't like that we as Christians, Muslims ,Buddhists whatever have a belief in something while they believe in nothing so on both sides its spewed out in hateful speech. Either way its wrong but you won't see this site changing any time soon.

It's not that the thoughts of atheists are worthless. They do need to show more respect for Chrisitans.

Although I was once agnostic, and rolled my eyes at Christians at one time - I was wise enough to not speak about things I did not know for sure. I kept an open mind and open heart and I eventually learned the truth.

Christians must be patient with atheists. They may not have had someone who prayed for them or taught them about the love of God. Some have no faith in anyone but themselves.

There needs to be more respect.

I should say - I've noticed a few atheists asking for "proof". You're not going to get it here or anywhere online. Finding Christ is a private and very personal experience. He wants to come where you are and lift you up.

Silly me. In my own private space, I asked Him to show himself and He did. It was a personal journey that I was initially very resentful of but was fully aware I had asked and learned sooooooooooo much from it. Too much to share here.

But just know, there is a God who cares about you deeply and has ALL the time in the world (eternity in fact) to prove Himself real. Yet, has nothing to prove. However, you don't have forever to choose. Not all my friends lived to see enlightenment. I did. For that and soooooo much more, I am grateful

Because we try to convince you that you're wrong and foolish by presenting scientific facts. Some of us believe that the sooner people can stop listening to what religious leaders tell us to do, we'll be more capable of rational thought and stop creating conflict all over the world simply due to differences in belief systems.

However, renouncing your faith and believing in evolution and that humans are not as unique as we think we are also includes realizing that there is no afterlife and there is not a divine being watching out for us. For many religious believers that is a hard pill to swallow and want to stamp out and ridicule anyone that disagrees with them.

Don't believe me? Watch all the thumbs down this post and any other post arguing the existence of gods gets.

Thank you Sara. Been a long time since I've heard something like that from a Christian on this site.

i respect them absolutely, but what kind of a Christian would we be if we didn't lovingly try to lead them to Christ? i do agree that some of the "so-called Christians" on here have some pretty nasty things to say. I'm sure Jesus is not pleased with the hateful rhetoric.

I asked this question an hour or so ago. Nice to see it come from a Christian.
