I took him to the groomer and she said he had no trace of fleas or flea dirty and their are not red areas on his body, which i didnt even see myself, but she gave him the dip anyway. Her diagnosis he has allergies, I have changd his food, dusted what else could it be that keeps him scratching, is their anything I can do to soothe him?

You're bombarding him with treatments, it's quite likely his skin has dried out from all the dipping! Also get the flea collar off him - they do nothing to treat fleas, and often also cause reactions.

For fleas, stick with just the treatment from the vets i.e the Advantix. If it's not fleas, you're going to have to wait until you can afford the vet to find out what the problem is, because we can't diagnose over the internet, even if we were vets which we're not. In the meantime, get the flea collar off him and stop using so many products.

Your dog probably has dry skin or most likely allergies! Try to bathe him in an oatmeal shampoo . The allergies could be anything . What kind of food do you feed Him?? There may be something in there that he's allergic too. Your eventually going to have to take him to the vet, but I think he can wait for a little bit until the emergency is over with. The vet will ask you though to do all kinds of skin tests if it is indeed an allergy. It can be pretty pricey. Go to a pet store and get a good brand of dog food like Chicken Soup for dogs or Nutro, that may just solve your problem.

Your dog could be suffering from anything...a skin fungus, allergies...Honestly the best thing to do is go to the vet. I understand that you can't right this second but you should do so asap.

Also, if it's allergies it wouldn't be to food, based on the symptoms.

And the flea bath was a waste of money if the groomer told you there were no fleas. So...don't waste any more on...any more.

You are grooming him too much and he has an allergy,if its not fleas then it has to be the grooming or the diet you have him on.I have great respect for groomers but my dog,a shith-tzu after comming from the groomers this month has done nothing but strarch untill she is raw. She's on meds but they take awhile to work so my guess is the dogs skin is irrated.

You may need to examine what type of plants or weeds you have growing around your environment. Your vet can give you a list of plants to look out for. Wandering jew is a particularly irritating one for dogs and since it is on the paws and belly I'd say your dog has been walking on or through something of this nature.

My Shih-tzu used to scratch a lot before i switched him to a grain free diet. The other food he used to be on was also an excellent food, the only difference was that it had rice in it . He still tends to itch a little bit for about a week during the change of seasons, but then it stops I usually just add a little fish oil to his food during this time.

There is a microchip from europe you canorder for your dog. It repels all bugs and insects from your pet. You can research it on the computer. It is $60, but it lasts for 2 years and is well worth it! You dog won't even relize its there! My dogs have it and I haven't found a tick or flea on him since!

He may have dry skin. Bathe him with oatmeal shampoo, or fill old sock 1/2 full of oatmeal and use as washing cloth and bathe him with it.

some times when the air is really dry, especially near the beaches they need cortisone shots, to moisten their dry skin
