This vet i was visiting for the first time diagnosed my dog with seborrhea. He and I got into an argument regarding the cost of his treatment plan(cost was MUCH higher than he originally quoted). He prescribed clavamox and said I could only get it through him.He said he would NOT authorize a prescription so I could get it elsewhere. He acted very pompous and rude. Now, my dog is still miserable and I cannot get Clavamox anywhere without a Rx. And I cannot go back to that vet because he wouldn't even give the Rx for it unless i agreed to the ENTIRE treatment plan. I think it's unfair don't you? What should I do to help my baby feel better and WHERE can I get some clavamox??

Have to have the Rx for it. I'd suggest another vet. This one doesn't sound like he cares for pets and much as income.

Isn't Clavamox an antibiotic? The white liquid? I have paid around $15 for it, many times. Since it's an antibiotic, it has to be by Rx. Good luck finding another doc- one who is reasonable.

Everyone is right. It is prescription.

Go to a different vet. Be upfront and honest about what the first diagnosis was and what you are able and willing to try for treatment.

Not all vets are equal when it comes to dealing with people.

Good luck.

You'll have to see another vet, clavamox is RX.

You can only get it from a vet.Why don't you go to a different vet and see if they will write you a prescription? My vet will write them for me,and will actually tell me if I can get a drug cheaper at a drugstore.Your vet is being selfish.I'd tell him "bye-bye."
