You and your mom should call the county hospital in your area. They will see you for free since you have financial problems. If you don't have a county hospital, and then contact city county and explain your situation to them. Most hospitals would see you depict your financial difficulties. You can search in your phone book and call them. If they can't help, they would at least give you some advice on what you can do.

You must learn more bi polar, before you diagnose your depression Therefore, go to google and read carefully of the signs of bi polar. At the age you are it could be just growing pains, meaning you are growing up and the world is in front of you, but still you need to seek some assistance, so don't ignore this. I don't have a lot of money, but if you need some help, just let me know. Honestly.

It's important that your mom take the advice I gave you because you may need some medical attention right away. Meanwhile spend time doing the things that make you happy, read a book, play video games etc...God bless

There are tests for bipolar disorder, and depression, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on pages 10, and 2J: read both sections. Contact your county/local mental health agency, see your doctor, or a free clinic. Inexpensive medications are available, but you need an expert diagnosis first: use the results of the tests to justify your request for a referral. Therapy is also advisable. Washing cars, mowing lawns, doing online surveys, etc., can help supply the $, as well as providing a form of exercise, and occupational therapy, to help you. Ask around, post fliers in local shops, maybe school noticeboards: a lot of kids would rather pay someone else to do their chores.

Why don´t you start with your school counselor, he or she will tell you if you have depression or not. And you should tell her you can afford a doctor, right now there are some programs for people in a low budget who needs medical attention. She can get you into one.
Most likely you are going through depressions that are normal on your own age, so don´t worry a lot. Go to the counselor and you´ll see you don´t have to worry so much for that.
Good luck :o)

talk with your school counselor, hon... there are sometimes county mental health programs and perhaps the counselor could help you to see what sort of financial aid might be offered? and i hope your school counselor can help you find good information.

many counties in the USA offer mental health services, and for low income people, many times they can give free services by applying for grant in your behalf..

take care and i hope you feel better. i'm 50 and have bipolar disorder.. i can't say whether you do or not, it's best to let a doctor make that determination.
hugs

yer 14- you need to start with your parents and school counselor.... you really don't want to be on meds if you can help it- really! your hormones are most likely the culprit of your "mood swings"- just relax. i know that sounds stupid, and it's not gonna get me a best answer, but really- talking it over with an adult in your life that can make descions for you ( or help futher an investigation) will be where you start. but taking medicines does not mean that your problems will go away- you are on a path- you are 4 yrs or less from being a man/woman. this is the hardest time in your life. i know and most people will agree with that.

can she get help through the state such as medicaid, especially for you. You should be able to get it if you are a full time student under 19. There are also low income mental health clinics, she would have to make calls and find out info.

Is there a school guidance counselor you can confide in? You can also tell your family doctor and he will advise where you may be able to get help.

Hope you feel better soon.

Do you have health insurance? Tell your mom how you feel and ask her to take you to a Dr.
