Why is PETA using Michael Vick as a spokesman?

Have you heard that PETA is going to use Michael Vick in a series of adds as a spokesman for them!?

Isn't that something like Osama being a spokesman for the JDL?

Because Vick paid them alot of money to make him look better to the public and so they are. PETA is a worthless group who protest fur at Bebe store in their leather shoes, they only care about the cute animals. Vick is a psycho with some serious mental problems for torturing dogs and so is that no talent basketball player who supports him. Vick should end up like OJ, giving up all his personal possessions and a joke. Well he is a joke already. "Vick is Sick"

Actually, it's a hand in glove sort of fit, imo. According to PETA's own website, PETA would like for APBT's to cease to exist. Not only that, they support banning the breed with the exception of those that are owned already in approved households. Pretty draconian if you ask me.
I think they are two peas in a pod. Now Vick, instead of fighting and killing dogs, if he is speaking for PETA, can encourage people to kill the breed because it is abused. Does that make sense, to wipe out a breed because it has been abused? Not to me.
I feel sick.

They will use ANYONE and ANYTHING to further their TRUE agenda: to eradicate animal breeding and ownership.

Where'd you hear that from? From the headline I saw at the front page, he's going to PETA for "empathy training."

IF what you say is true, he's probably only doing that as part of his plea bargain to get a lesser sentence.

first of all to jo: if you really read the whole thing...which i doubt you did because your little speech down there doesnt make sense. i myself am a pitbull owner. it does not say they want to ban pits, they want to encourage people to not breed them anymore, AND they say also many other dogs. too many people are breeding when there are many dogs being slaughtered in shelters everyday. so...read first then write. michael vick is an buttwhole and i will never wish upon anyone as much as i have wished harm on that man. i really hope he rots.
