it is caused by irritation from the infectious process, if you are really uncomfortable you can now get a medication over the counter called pyridium, it will turn your urine orange while you take it, but it will take away that feeling of urgency. Ask your druggist for the brand name, I don't recall it just now, the generic name is pyridium.

Trust me I have kidney problems......See a doctor if it is an infection you need antibiotics to clear it up, it will get worse if you don't. To prevent it next time drink a glass of cranberry juice everyday or you can take a cranberry tablet less calories but more expensive. Wear cotton underwear always wipe front to back after going to the bathroom, showers are better, and don't hold it if you have to pee go.

a full bladder. No, seriously, you have probably accustomed yourself to keeping your bladder empty and now you have trained yourself to pay oversensitive attention to the state of it. Stay calm and it will adjust back.
