My kitten had/had exactly the same problem. When we asked the vet she gave us a very good explanation. When kittens are born their tear ducts aren't fully developed yet so they often develop a crustiness in their eyes. Nothing to worry about =]

Okay, since you're only getting answers to one extremem or the other I suggest that you talk to a vet (like on the phone) before you rush in and possibly get the same explanation the second answerer on the list recieved. That way, if your kitten actually is very sick you can run in to the vet and he'll know exactly whats up when you get there. If the kitten isn't in danger, you haven't wasted any time or money.

This is common but it is not normal. Your kitten seems to have an infection and you should go to the vet and get the kitty checked out. There is an eye cream that you can use to fight the infection before it goes too far. Kitty does need her shots! I would even check her out for feline leukemia and perhaps have her checked for worms. We found a kitten like this and it infected our other cats. It was really expensive to treat them all as they kept reinfecting each other.

This is old fashion but will help things along and be more comfortable for the little kitty. Warm milk wash, warm the milk (whole milk is better), dunk a cotton ball in it, hold the eye sqeeze the milk a cross the eye and do this every 30 minutes. But remember you have to get this kitty to a vet! Don't wait they all need a general check and shots before she/he gets really sick.......Good luck.

This happens in most kittens. If you take him to the vet they are going to prescribe something called 'Erythromycin Ophthalmic Ointment'. Bausch & Lomb makes one. Its a gel you rub on their tear ducts every day twice a day. It is, however, contagious. Dont touch your eyes after touching his. Wash your hands first. Go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist if there is an over the counter medication like the one I said. The med is made for humans but works on kittens too. It is nothing to worry about, hes not going to go blind.

It sounds like your cat has a cold in its eye,my dogs usual get this off and on,and my vet tells us,that is a viral thing, that they will get off and on--if its not real bad,you just keep wiping it out of the eyes, otherwise;go to your vet because you will need some kind of medication for them--

Eye boogers!

Not usually a problem. Just keep the little ones face clean. Dust and stuff makes it happen. Not a thing to worry about.

If he is squinting and his eyes seem sensitive to light then it is not normal. If nothing else I would at least call my vet's office and describe this to them. They will have a better idea for what you should do and what else to look for.

no you must take him to a vet immediately because he might have a cat's pinkeye disease or he's got eye "sand" that people get almost every time they wake up but since its every hour thats not normal you must take him to the vet QUICKLY

It sounds like it has an infection you will have to go to the vet and get antibiotic or ointment for the eye.
