Should I wear a suit or plain clothes? This was just a speeding ticket and have never been to court before.

Agree with the first poster.

You are not going to a prom or Eastger services - don't overdo it.

Dress and act respectfully, most important that you are comfortable in the clothes you wear - sincerity is most important - wear the best clothes you can behave sincerely in. That varies for different people in different walks of like. The judge will understand that and respect it.

Well, I attend many court proceedings with the attorneys here at our firm, and I am constantly amazed what people will wear to court! They come in cut-off shorts & shirts; flip-flops; stained & dirty clothes; baseball caps, etc. Any judge would be appreciate anyone who displays respect with appropriate dress. If you normally wear a suit and tie; wear a suit and tie. Business casual is also appropriate. Good Luck on that ticket!

no suit... just like a nice pair of khakis and a nice button up shirt. .i guess you could wear a tie if you wanted to. But most traffic tickets that aren't serious take less then 5 minutes in court

Just dont look like a bum. I've been to traffic court a couple of times and it is really no big deal. There is no need to dress up at all. Like I said just dont look like a bum

Very minimum should be a collared shirt or polo and khaki's. A suit isn't necessary, but a button-down, tie, and slacks never hurt making a good impression...

Church clothes should be fine. But the judge would not be offended if you wore a tie or a suit.

It never hurts to look respectful when you have a court appearance.

Business casual would be fine.

Just don't wear ratty, torn up jeans and that Jimmy Buffet t-shirt from a concert you went to 15 years ago. :)

The judge will wear a robe. The cops will wear their uniforms. You should dress to impress.
