The most widespread religion in Russia is Orthodox Christianity dominated by Russian Orthodox Church. This is followed by Sunni Islam (Muslims). Various other sects of Christianity is also present in Russia including various Protestant faiths, Roman Catholicism, and Old Believers. There is also some presence of Judaism, Buddhism, and Krishnaism. In addition to these mainstream religions there are many forms of paganism especially in remote areas.

Religion can be broadly divided along the following ethnic lines:

1) The majority of religious Slavs are Orthodox

2) The majority of religious people of Turkic descent are Muslims (most of them Sunnis)

Hope this helps

Islam, Russian Orthodox, Catholicism, Buddhism, and God only knows how many others migrated from all directions from its huge borders. (Atheism, for sure, if that's a religion ... at least it was for the Commies.) Victor, Capitalism and a declining ruble* took down the wall.

Same ones that are in any other place. Some just have adherents who are harder to find than others. Most commonly though you'll probably find Russian Orthodox folks.
