mygorgousgirls, I know exactly what your church teaches and taught.... I was a member for 40 years.. Until one night when I truly excepted the Jesus of the Bible as my personal Lord and Savior. Instead of praying if the book of mormon is true, which by the way is not Biblical, John says test the spirits.. 1 John 4:1-4

People leave the church for many reasons and they all stem from the inticings of satan, the confusion and doubt he causes. That's it. If our testimony is not strong enough, he will lead us away from the Light, which is the true and everlasting gospel.
People also JOIN the church every month. There are many more joining than leaving and it will be that way forever, because the gospel will spread to the whole earth before the Second Coming, that is prophecy.
We know the Bible, we love the Bible. We believe in all the good that is in it. We don't believe there are false things in the bible, just maybe some things that were left out or not explained clear enough - that is why we have the Joseph Smith Translations. He translated some verses through the direction and power of Almighty God and his Priesthood.
There will always be people like you, people that have to fight against what is right...but that is your choice.
You have your beliefs and we have ours.

Don't you think that people who leave the church have a beef about something? Don't you think that there is possibly a reason for them to maybe fib a little so the church looks worse? Is it possible that because they left, they feel guilty about it and want to try to make other miserable because of the choices they made? Could it be possible that just because you interpret something one way that someone else could have a totally different interpretation of the same thing?
How about you let others live their lives the way they want to and worry about your own salvation. You say you believe in love, tolerance and peace, but what are you showing to others? I'm guessing that isn't it.
Here is a website for you. Might answer a few of your questions, and let you know what the church is really about.
Have a great night!

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
The Book of Mormon is "Another" witness of Jesus Christ.
(in the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses shall every word be established)
2 Cor. 13: 1
1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

We do believe that the bible is true. What makes you think you are the one that is right in your translation of the bible? ask yourself that question. What bible do you read? and you know what. thousands become known to the truth every month. not leave I think you got that mixed up.

I'm Mormon and I have about 5 bibles in my house that have already gotten through to me. But thanks for caring so much. However, with your next statement, it's usually the bible that brings them into the church, thousands.

The truth already got through to us. That's why we're members of the chruch.
It's funny really. That letter I mean. They go on and on about how they came to this conclusion and that conclusion... but never once do they ever mention talking to God.

Funny how You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

It will to some- lifeafter.org talks about Mormons who were saved and are now Christians. Many will not- they have been trained to not research on their own or challenge their churches teachings. Also, the pressure to remain Mormon is strong- many families will disown or threaten relatives who leave the Mormon church for Christianity.
