By definition a screen saver is meant to save the monitor from having what is called burn in, where the pixels have been left on for such a long time that even when you turn off the monitor you can see the picture.

now having said that, setting your screen saver to a black screen will do the best job of that.

On the same note if you have a LCD monitor that problem should no longer be an issue.

but if you just want to have your computer do something when you are not at it you aught to go download a program that will help in the fight against cancer. or seti.

These are the best screen savers I could possibly offer you.

hope you chose one.

I use an aquarium scene and sometimes I switch it to a scene of a river flowing around rocks with leaves falling into it from the surrounding trees. Both are pretty realistic and better than odd shapes flashing around on my screen making me dizzy.

I think the ones with the fish in the freshwater and saltwater aquariums are great (Goldfish Aquarium is the one I had). You pick the fish and they swim around each other and around plants while the sunshine fades in the evening.
