pop! either you are getting tons of sugar (empty calories) or your getting nasty sugar substitutes. The milkshake has fat and sugar, but it also has protien and calcium and vitamins. If you are looking for "healthy" go with the shake, only dont eat alot or often. If you are going for "weightloss" better make it a diet soda or better yet, a glass of lemonwater with icecubes or a fruit smoothie (frozen fruit, nonfat milk, icecubes, maybe some yogurt and blend)

I would say a can of pop is worse, only because there is no nutritional value whatsoever. At least there is calcium in the milkshake! And I'd definitely take a milkshake over a can of pop any day! :)

Both are pretty bad unless the can of pop is one of those fruit juice sodas (Knudsen, the Switch, and Izze all make carbonated fruit juice drinks--Izze is just fruit juice and carbonated water). Milk has fat, cholesterol, hormones, antibiotics, pus, blood, and all sorts of chemicals in it. The excess protein leaches calcium from your bones.
Soda, on the other hand, is liquid satan, especially if you have one of the conventional sodas with either high fructose corn syrup or a diet soda with aspartame or sucralose. Nondiet sodas are pure sugar. The phosphoric acid in many sodas is bad, bad, bad.
So make a soy milkshake (use soy milk and soy ice cream) instead. Most soy milks have calcium, and you can find sugar-free soy milks at your natural foods store. Or mix fruit juice and carbonated water for a natural soda.

They are both pretty bad but pop/soda is worse because the seltzer water leaches minerals from your bones.

Are their any other choices? They both are very bad choices. Can we select fruit smoothies instead? They are very good and great for you.
