Do you consider yourself more a separate entity within the Universe, or an integral part of it?

Thank you all for your answers thus far.

Could it be said, then (for those who say we are integral parts of the Universe), that...

IF we are integral parts of the Universe,
AND we are intelligent,
THEN intelligence is an integral part of the Universe

??

Separate. In as much as I do not think there would be any significant difference if I was not in it.

Of course an integral part of it. Being human though, we can perceive the universe and get a fat head.

I kind of like to think of myself as one of the minor components involved in the universe's efforts to understand itself... as it goes through the process of becoming whatever the heck it is becoming.

Quantum interconnectedness tells us that we are all integral parts of the universe... AND we are seperate entities... at the same time. It just depends on your perspective, as you reflect upon it.

Funny thing... if you look at the night sky through a telescope, peering at a galaxy 10 million light-years away... from the perspective of the observer (you), the photon that impinges upon your eyeball has been enroute for 10 million years, and your eyeball just happened to be the instrument that intercepted it. From the perspective of the photon, though, no time has elapsed at all... it went instantaneously from its source to your eyeball. So, we would be not be wrong to say that 10 million years ago, that photon 'knew' that it was going to end up in YOUR eyeball NOW... 10 million years later.

Not only are we connected to the universe... we are connected through space and time, as well... except that there is no compelling reason to think that time actually exists, apart from human consciousness. In other words, we do not 'experience' time... we CREATE time.

Neils Bohr said "Not only is the universe stranger than we imagine... it is stranger than we CAN imagine."

OK... please stand back. My head is going to explode now.

I am no where near arrogant enough to assume I am some integral part of the universe.

Part of the problem with civilization is that we separate ourselves from nature but this is the price we pay for advancement. This is not too bad if only we would look after the earth instead of treating it like a rubbish dump.

we are all integral to the universe since the universe is finite. nothing more and nothing less what is within the universe will stay within the universe its a matter of fact.

I'd like to think by God's design I'm an intregal part of it. An incredibly small piece of a huge puzzle.
