Once removed, if the cousin in question is, as you said, a first.
Your (first) cousin's grandchild is your first cousin twice removed.
When (if) you have children, they and your (first) cousin's child will be second cousins.
http://www.tedpack.org/cousins.html
has a four-color chart, if you count black and white as two colors.
For a real stretch, your second cousin's great grandchildren will be your 2C3R. Your great-grandparent's 2nd cousins are your 2C, 3 times removed too. I know a lady who is President John Adam's half first cousin 7 times removed.
(John Adam's mother and this lady's "nth" great grandfather were half-siblings.)

Your Cousins child is you 1st cousin once removed,
1st cousins share a set of Grandparents and then each generation from them is once, twice removed etc,
2nd cousins share a set of great grandparents and the Once, Twice removed works the same way.

If it's your first cousin's child, then he would be your first cousin once (one generation) removed. Your children will be that child's second cousins.
