what would happen if someone was able to provide an input and get two outputs back

It can happen, I don't think the world would end.

Think about a light switch connected to two lights, one input two outputs. Or a video on you computer, input: file, output: video & sound.

You'd violate the Laws of Thermodynamics which, as far as we know, can't be done.
