I'm pretty young so I'm really close with my nephew who's only 14. We talk a bunch and he's fine with telling me everything. He's been really stressed lately, so I asked him what's wrong. At first he wouldn't talk about it, but I got it out of him. He said he thinks his penis is not big enough, saying that he showed it to one of his best girl friends (at first he wouldn't tell me this, for good reason too because that was pretty surprising for a 14 year old) and he said she kind of scoffed at him when she saw it. He finally told me he's 4.25". I repeatedly tell him that size doesn't matter and that 4" is long enough at 14, but he disregards everything I say and just gets upset when I bring it up. How can I tell him that he's fine?

By the way, I'm his uncle. Sorry for the confusion. :)

Tell him that size definitely does NOT matter to us - and I'm a woman (have been for many, many years). I've had a "bigger" guy and found him self-centered and rather painful, if you follow me. On the other end of spectrum, my best lover was actually smaller than the "average", but he put his heart and soul into lovemaking. Most women want that special kind of love-making, more than just having sex. Tell him the woman who falls in love with him, seriously, she isn't going to pull out a tape measure.

I don't think you can. Being female and growing up around tons of male friends, that was a concern of well...all of them. Some of them, I knew had nothing to worry about. Lets put it this way: a guy with a 8" penis usually still thinks its too small because he's compairing to the "fake" one in a porno. So your cousin is probably doing the same, and that girl just confirmed his doubt. Until he gets more experience with girls that 1st experiene is what he's going off of. If I were you I would suggest dropping the subject and getting his focus on something else. Its not going to make the concern go away but it might take the stress of the whole ordeal off of him. Good luck!

14 is young.
You might want to caution him about pulling that out... can get him arrested.
People hit growth spurts and plateaus.
Next year he could grow half a foot in height... or it could be a steady increase over the next 5 years.
Some guys have really big feet and grow into them.
Some guys don't come into their size until after college.
You get the idea.
Ask him to check with his dad about his particular growth spurts and plateaus.

he isn't really old enough, it will continue to grow.

Penis growth usually starts between the ages of 10 to 14 years of age. The testicles enlarge first and pubic hair starts growing.
The penis grows in length first and girth slightly later. Teenagers have to wait for one or two years after they stop growing in height before they know their final penis size.

There is nothing you can say or do.

It is no different for a woman that thinks her breasts are not big enough.

Self confidence will need to arise from another area of the individual.

There is so much more to life than being bigger or longer.... physical aspects are truly just skin deep.

You already have told him he's fine. Don't press it. Be his Aunt and be supportive. Be open for more questions and answer them honestly if asked. Pushing the issue with him may drive him away from you and the most important thing for him is to have someone he trusts if he has other questions.

BTW, this is a secret you cannot share with anyone. He has trusted you with something that is very embarrassing to him.

You told him. But he wanted the girl to say that to him, not you. He'll get over it when he gets older and finds a woman that will appreciate him. At 14, he's still growing.

Fact: He'll keep growing unitl he's 18 - 20 years old.

Tell him "It's not the size of the pencil that matters, it's how you write your name!"

women come in different sizes too and he shouldn't worry when it comes down to it, a woman will love you regardless of your size, if she doesn't then you know she doesn't really love you .... besides it could be 2 inches instead of 4!

You just tell him that once, and ask him again in a year or two.
