Slurred speech, unable to cough now. keep bitting toung and massive amount of saliva. Problems with catching my breath especially when I laugh.

could indeed be ALS, suggest you proceed with proper testing.

Well, there are definite markers that are used as the basis for a diagnoses of ALS. Have you asked your doc why he made that diagnosis? If your doc did not require you to have a blood test that would define his diagnosis, change docs.
