Yes, baking soda is safe to use for whitening teeth just make sure you don't swallow it. Also, mix the baking soda with hydrogen peroxide and then brush with it so you can get a whiter smile. Be sure to also use your regular toothpaste to clean your teeth - the baking soda is just for whitening purposes. Best of luck!

I'm not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten your teeth.
Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!
For home remedies.
Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.
Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.
Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.
Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.
If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you!
Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

I don't think baking soda will whiten it as much as the combination of perxoide and baking soda that is either a whitening kit from your dentist, or some of the toothpastes. The toothpastes aren't as good as what the dentist has. It may be slight if at all. It does freshen your mouth. I remember Oprah telling one time that baking soda is all that she uses.

Baking soda is the best! I do it all the time and I saw results when i started within the first 3 days. But you need to do it properly. Put toothpaste on your bursh and bursh ur teeth with it a little until its all soapyish, then dip ur toothbrush in baking soda and brush for a full 2 MINUTES, Takes a long time to brush those stains away. and doing this twice a day for 3 days then you will have pearl white teeth!

Baking soda is quite good in removing some plaque and other stains. It doesn't really whiten the teeth but they do feel really clean. Bicarb is not dangerous. People used to use it with water for indigestion. Just rinse your mouth out several times to get rid of the gritty residue.

We used to use a mixture of baking soda and salt; about 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/4 tsp. salt. Yes, it works, how well depends upon the individual (you know, individual results may vary). I prefer using it to toothpaste; of course, tooth paste is less bother.

Not sure of it. A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/
