Girl, don't stress over that yet. Your wedding is 8 months away. It doesn't take that long to ship dresses. I'd chill out and then start griping at them that they need to get working closer to time. Plus, they could gain or lose weight before then and you don't want to have the dresses altered to much.

I would call them individually and let them know that the dresses you have chosen take at least 6 months to order (or longer so that they feel like they need to hurry and get it done). If the girls out of state don't have the same shop in their area, tell them to go to a bridal shop or alterations shop and get their measurements done and to either call you with them or email it to you so that you can get it ordered still. Let the people know that if they can't get fitted, then you maybe you won't be able to have them in the wedding because you want everyone to look their best on that day. I'm sure they will understand the urgency then, just be sure to say it in a nice tone so that aren't resentful of you! Best of luck!

Talk to them about setting a date to go get fitted. You could still wait another month or so. Let them know by which date the fittings NEED to be done by. Send out reminders (or call ) but don't harass them too much about it. If they don't get it done then have them be invited to the wedding but not be a part of the bridal party. If they can't simply go and get fitted they aren't likely to help you out with the wedding anyway so there's no point in having them as bridesmaids. It's harsh but very true.

Pick a dress that YOU like, then tell them they need to try it on and order their size by a specific date. If they don't hey will need to shell out the extra expense for express shipping. And that is it!

It is nice if some or all of the bridesmaids can g with you and try things on so you can choose the best one, but obviously they are not able to coordinate their schedules so just pick one and give them a deadline!!!

I think I'd ask them up front if they still plan/want to be in your wedding at all?! They may have changed their mind for whatever reasons, including the fact that they have to put a deposit on the dress when it's ordered and may not have the money to do it. I think asking them what reasons they have would be better than us trying to guess for you.

Good Luck!

Set up a time when
at least 2 of them say
yes. Then tell others
they must go by Oct. 20, 2008
to assure delivery on time.

Why do you all have to go to together just to get measured?!?! That makes you a bridezilla. I've never heard of that before. Usually the girls go to the shop on their own time, by themselves, whenever it is good for them.

OK then, tell them to tell you their size, and get however much is needed to order them, and go and do it yourself.

Your situation sucks, but you either need to get a cattle prod or start doing the legwork.

What excuses are they giving?

Are they always like this?
