Phone H P and tell them to send you a postage paid return mail box so you can send their crap back.

If you need to recover stuff off that hard drive, you need to take it out and put it in another working pc as a slave drive, and pull off what you need. Then wipe (erase) the hard drive.
Then put it back in your HP and *now* use your Recovery CD. The recovery CD is stalling because of the Torrent version you attempted to load. You can't go forward (fix the Torrent version) and you can't go backwards at this point. So you need to salvage what you can and move on... Sorry it's not better news, and good luck!

Hi. Get a friend to copy all data from your hard drive using the jumpers on the back of the drives to set MA (Master) and SL (Slave). Once you have the data copied, re-install the OS you want on your drive. Then copy your files back, reversing the MA and SL settings.

Do you have the phone number for a support center? The only other advice I can give is to go to where you got the computer and ask them for help...???
