Desire is the state of seeking fulfillment outside of oneself, as opposed to contentment which is finding fulfillment within oneself and one's current conditions. So I would say that the metaphorical source of desire is the eyes - the part of the individual that looks outwards.

What is the desired source within an individual?-I think it's a typo. The s and d are close to each other.
My answer would be a similar mind and personality.

The dictionary states that desire is: to yearn for the possession of; a longing; object of longing; LUST. Need I say more? The source is the mind, wanting what it wants. The mind is the devils playgroung. He plants a thought or desire, and you feed it. Thats why the word says," Capture every thought that is not of God and cast it down."

Desires source is our ego, or carnal/humanness. The Bible calls this the devil or Satan. Spirit is above desire of anything but communing with God.

From a Buddhist perspective, from not understanding "All things must pass - only love, compassion, wisdom and skilful means are worth pursuing with any vigour and cultivating to exhaustion. These are worth our investing effort and time and go forward as lasting valuables we carry with us forever."
