I always have a cup of English or Irish Tea, a splash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar.. to wash down the vegemite on toast... thinly spread over melting butter.
Whenever we get very fresh bread, I always have a slice of bread with butter and vegemite. That's really my favourite.. but you have to like vegemite to enjoy it.
Lots of people put cheese on the vegemite on toast.. but that's a lil fattening... I sometimes use tomato instead of cheese.
haha...
Anyway... I hope you enjoy it.. but if you don't you can alsways use it by the teaspoonful and place it in broth or any meat stew dish. It truly enhances the flavour.

Hello Doctor, I too had some intiation-experiences 10 years ago and have been meditating ever since. You have posed a difficult question. If you can get into a contemplative and still state, what is your inner voice or Deepest, Truest Self guiding you to do? I could sense a pitfall in being a lone healing authority figure to a close friend who is in a vulnerable state. Traditionally, healing comes Through the healer and is not an act of their will or "expertise," as far as I understand. Yet this could also be a call for you to act as that vessel. It would also be helpful to have the support of a prayer network, a healing community. Perhaps there is a nurse where you work who you feel is a person of warmth and integrity and practices laying-of-hands, Reiki or massage and could give you some leads? A community of others with healing experience could pool their good intentions, pray together and share their experience to help your friend. I have a friend who had cancer and was healed with the support of a community based on Native American practices. But I believe any sincere healing community would be of help. I wish you will find the answers you need for the Highest Good of all involved. Best wishes, Andrew

I eat Vegemite almost daily...I'm an Australian :) So I guess that makes me 'initiated'
Please, please, PLEASE whatever you do, don't eat it on it's own. If you do that it'll knock your socks off and you'll never try it again. It's an acquired taste like oysters, anchovies, pistachios, etc.
Heres what you do...toast some bread so that it's medium down...crispy outside but soft inside. Then butter it well, and make sure you do this while the toast is hot enough to melt the butter. Then smudge a little, little tiny bit of Vegemite over the buttered toast. It's best if it's not an even layer, just a little smeared on here and there.
Whatever you do, don't put too much of it on. A little is Oh So Yummy, but too much is YUCK!!
I found some picture to give you an idea of how much to put on

Good luck and I hope all goes well!!

PS. As waterlily said, cheese goes well with it too

I would listen to the Aussies Jack and Gaz. If you are not accustomed to trying strange things, then I might suggest not pulling a glob straight out of the jar and eating it. Sorta like I did. Fresh bread tastes the best. Toast the bread, then add a healthy smear of butter and add slight amount of Vegemite. Be careful not to put too much on or it might overwhelm you. It's a unique taste but it is good.

Vegemite on toast definitely (try it with a bit of cheese - its great with cheese). Like already mentioned its best to start with a bit of butter and a thin layer of vegemite or marmite. Its an aquired taste for sure but once you're there its rather nice.

I'm going to be honest with you. I have no idea what Vegemite is. Would you mind explaining this one to me. Is it a spread or something like that?
But I'm always one to live on the wild side. Rules and the law is something I have no regard for and laugh at those responsible for enforcing it. Go for a toasted bagel. What ever it is.

On toast.. Spread margarine thinly... Spread vegemite thinly..
Prepare another toast with strawberry jam to neutralize.. :-) if necessary.
After that, you may try to put vegemite on cracker biscuits too.. with a tiny slice of cheddar cheese on top..
Good luck.. and have a good night sleep.
*p.s. oh.. cut the toast in diagonals or fingers.. Btw, how was it going?

I'd suggest spreading lots of butter on the toast, then spreading just a little bit of Vegemite.
You can try it with a very tiny amount first, and if it isn't too bad, you can try another toast with more Vegemite.
Look at Tash's answer below.
