Yes, some shotguns are more accurate with a modified choke.
Some shoot better with an improved cylinder choke.
Does your shotgun have a fixed choke or choke tubes?

It would really help if you could tell us what brand shotgun and what brand rifled slugs you are asking about. In addition is your shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" or 3" magnum shells? Does it have an outside the barrel model cone shaped adjustable choke?

Completely safe as long as you use Foster-type rifled slugs and not solid or saboted ones.
Rifled slugs are designed to swage down to size as they pass through a choke.

yes, however if you shoot slugs through a choke that is too small for the slug the choke will get bigger.

It is possible, but the accuracy isn't going to be great, and the wear on the choke will greatly increased. If it is a screw in choke, it probably will cause damage rather quickly.
