I feel very strange asking this question, because I've never had much dating trouble before... but now I do.
There's this guy that I think is really... well, attractive, and I've heard good things about him. But... I don't know him. I want to be able to talk to him and get to know him, but the way that he looks at me is really intimidating. I can't tell why he looks at me that way. I'm actually pretty shy, and I really want to be able to talk to him, even as just a friend. How can I talk to him without him thinking I'm an idiot?

Just smile at him. I have the same problem with a guy I like. Oh well. I used to never be able to get more than a word out. But now we can actually have a conversation. It just takes time and patience. Just act nice and smile at him. That will get his attention.

as long as you dont go "duh duh duh" --- i dont think he will consider you an idiot --- just say hello and see if a conversation develops ---- if one does then you can then start an ongoing conversational relationship --- you can both tell if you are interested in each other and see if there is anything more --- until one of you says hello nothing will happen ---- best wishes
