I was on a school trip today and we went to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and I noticed in 3 spots there was a pattern of 7 candles. 2 structures that resembled menorahs (and obviously were not since it's an episcopal church) and 7 candles hanging down from the ceiling in a similar style. When I asked my teachers none of them were sure and I couldn't find anyone who had much of a clue. Any help?
A photo of the candles. It's on the left and you can just see the mirrored one on the right.

it is an ancient tradition in the West to have 7 candles in the Bishop's church (cathedral) and in any church when the Bishop presides. It represents the fullness of the Church, as in the 7 candles in the Book of Revelation. It takes different forms, sometimes the Menorah, sometimes free standing candles, et cetera.
